Post Day One Step is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or speech input.
What we aim for
We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard we measure ourselves against. We do not claim this site is fully conformant, and we do not claim that any tool or overlay makes it so. Accessibility is a property of the pages themselves, and it is something we keep working on.
What we have done
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Headings are used in order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and background colours are chosen for contrast, and the layout reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel wide screen.
- Animation respects the operating system's reduce motion setting.
- A settings widget is available on every page for adjusting text size, contrast and spacing. It is a convenience, not a substitute for the work above.
Known limitations
Checkout happens on pages hosted by our payment providers, Stripe and Flex, rather than on this site. We do not control their accessibility. If you have difficulty completing a purchase, email us and we will help you order another way.
Tell us about a problem
If you meet a barrier on this site, please tell us what happened, the page you were on, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. Email [email protected]. We aim to reply within five working days, and we will tell you what we can fix and when.
If you are not satisfied with our response, say so in a reply and we will escalate it internally.
